This year, Prom Boutique benefited 67 girls from nine high schools in three counties (Franklin, Osage, and Anderson). |
|
The second annual Prom Boutique, sponsored by the Volunteer Center of ECKAN, was a fun filled afternoon of free dresses, prizes, hair and make up and delicious refreshments. 67 girls from nine high schools and three counties were able to select from over 150 beautiful formal dresses that had been donated from throughout the community. Prizes were donated by Applebee’s, Katie Butts (Avon), Envy Nails, Endless Glow (Salon Platinum), Sun Studio, Hair Designers, Z Hair Academy, Laurinda Sobba (Mary Kay) and Butler’s Florist. The event was held at Prairie Star thanks to Kay Selman and a donation from Carstar to cover facility costs, and a donation from Wal- Mart Distribution Center to cover the cost of food. Suffron Glass donated a large mirror for the dressing room, and Royal Cleaners of Ottawa provided free steaming for the donated dresses and a significant discount on those needing to be cleaned. Volunteers for the afternoon included Ginger Hobbs, Diane Carswell, Nita Harter, Melody Tarbox, Dana Bridges, Carol Cochran, Laurinda Sobba, Breanna Jones, Kourtney Clark, Eliana Williamson, Danielle Kenyon, Breanna Rossman, and Nell Stockdall. |
