Korrie Snell joined ECKAN in August of 2018 as the Director of Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Operations. Korrie is a lifelong Kansan, born and raised in Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School. Korrie studied Psychology and Statistics at the University of Kansas.
Prior to her role at ECKAN, Korrie was employed by the State of Kansas as the Project Coordinator for the Cooperative Agreement to Benefit Homeless Individuals (CABHI) as well as the State Co-Lead for the SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) model. During this time, Korrie became well-versed in the use of acronyms, as well as overseeing federal programs that assist individuals with disabling conditions and individuals experiencing homelessness. Korrie is a Kansas certified SOAR specialist, and has used this model to help individuals apply for disability benefits since 2013.
During her personal time, Korrie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog. She is a proud aunt and amateur “craftivist,” creating art with her family to support social causes. Korrie is motivated in her new position to apply her love of statistics and paperwork with her equal love of direct service work that improves communities on the macro and micro levels.
