Renessa Mehrtens started with ECKAN July 29, 2013.  Renessa graduated from Emporia State University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.  She started at Agler and Gaeddert Charted in January 2002 as an accountant and was with them for twelve and half years.  During her employment with Agler and Gaeddert she worked in various entities of tax preparations, compilations for different organizations, and payroll returns for clients, both quarterly and annual returns.  She also assisted in audits of municipalities, school districts, and not for profit organizations. Ms. Mehrtens parents live in Auburn, KS and she enjoys spending time with them and doing things from from fishing with her father, to shopping and helping her mother with different projects.  Renessa has two children who are grown and raising families of their own.  She looks forward to spending time with her grandchildren as they grow and experience fishing, walks in the park, and other interests that they may have. In her spare time, she volunteers with the band boosters for Baldwin High School band.  Her daughter was in the band and being involved helps keep her in touch with the younger generation and fill her spare time.  Last year she was involved in several fundraisers helping the kids raise their share of the money needed to travel to Florida to march in the parade at Disney's Magic Kingdom.  They enjoyed their trip and will have a lifetime of memories that they will be able to pass on to their children. Renessa is looking forward to the challenges that working for ECKAN will present and feels like it will be a rewarding experience.  She is familiar with the organization and its programs and likes how we work to help people with different services that we provide.  From housing, to weatherization, to the food pantries, and especially the help that is provided to the young, both with Head Start programs and the youth programs.  Renessa is looking forward to learning all that she can to help ECKAN progress into a great future.
